Members of Union Pacific's Rail Runners club did their part to help fellow joggers go the extra mile by manning a water station at the 29th Annual Memorial Day Run at Boys Town National Research Hospital on the Boys Town Campus.

The run benefited the Lied Learning and Technology Center for Childhood Deafness and Vision Disorders. Each year more than 2,200 registered runners take part.

"The morning started off quite dreary and rainy, but the UP volunteers showed up enthused to keep the runners hydrated and motivated," said Katie Becker, associate account manager-Industrial Products, UPDS. "As time neared for the race to begin, the rain started to come down faster, but everyone was prepared with hundreds of cups of water to hand out to the runners. We had to work fast to keep up with the crowd that passed our water station over the next hour. Overall, it was a great experience and everyone kept in good spirits and had a fun time."
