Community Sourcing Program

The Community Sourcing Information System (CSIS) provides Union Pacific hiring managers information about recruitment sources via community organizations throughout the United States. This unique program is specifically designed to increase the pool of women and minority job applicants. Information in the system includes community names, organization names and locations, organizational contacts and type of organization.

The system also allows the Railroad to perform individual or mass mailings to organizations for recruitment marketing purposes. Recruitment materials, flyers, posters and brochures announcing UP job opportunities are mailed to these organizations and employment opportunities are advertised with local organizations.

CSIS allows Union Pacific to attract a diverse group of viable job candidates quickly, thus reducing overall sourcing costs, as well as providing qualified people for the right job at the right time.

UP also utilizes a number of other diversity websites specifically designed to assist organizations identify persons with disabilities, veterans and gender-specific populations to receive job vacancy notices and postings.
