Boone, IA

Boone is first and foremost known as a railroad town. Generations of families have worked the railroad, calling Boone their home. Currently, more than 600 UP employees work out of the Boone center.

These vital members of our community are actively involved in many charitable projects and events, including our communinty's annual celebration of railroad heritage, Pufferbilly Days(TM). The local UP Employees Club, leads the way, providing support for our local celebration, as well as giving many volunteer hours for events like the Bi-Annual Farm Progress Show, held just outside of Boone.

As the tracks cut right through the heart of the community, residents clearly understand the magnitude that the UP plays in our local economy, and the impact the UP has on our industrial park's supply chain. Boone looks forward to working and growing the relationship with Union Pacific Railroad in the years to come.
