To Our Customers,

We anticipate strong demand for grain unit trains to Pacific Northwest (PNW) destinations throughout the grain harvest season. We have experienced some crew shortage delays over the past several days as volume for grain unit trains and other business has increased. Over the next week we are relocating crews to the PNW to reduce delays. We also have new crews graduating from our training program over the next several weeks, and we will continue to hire and train new crews in the region. To lessen the potential for short-term congestion and to maintain fluidity in the area, we will closely monitor our train slotting plans for each unloading destination. If we foresee congestion, we may hold some trains at the loading customer location.

We will continue to monitor volumes and provide you with additional information if necessary. If you have any questions, please contact your Union Pacific representative.
