To Our Customers,

Union Pacific, along with other railroads, the Federal Railroad Association, Texas Department of Transportation and City of Fort Worth are undertaking a $115 million upgrade of "Tower 55." Located near Fort Worth, Texas, Tower 55 is an at-grade rail intersection where freight and passenger rail routes converge into two, north-south main lines — crossing two, east-west main lines.

Funding for the project will be used for additional track, enhancements to rail connectors, new signaling and control systems as well as improvements to at-grade crossings. Customers will benefit from additional capacity and increased running speeds, allowing for future volume growth and reduced train delays.

While some construction work already has begun in the outlying areas of Fort Worth, the major construction phases that will impact traffic are scheduled to begin in late March and conclude in early September. For those customers with a Union Pacific User ID and password, please visit our Tower 55 Maps for additional details on when your rail shipments may be impacted.

If you have any questions please contact your Union Pacific representative.
