Effective October 1, 2012:

Dear Idaho & Washington Potato and Onion Shippers,

This year, Union Pacific has created a streamlined email ordering process for Idaho and Washington customers to order/cancel empty reefer cars that fall between the 7 day car ordering system allowance. This new email system is will help minimize customer confusion, allow customers to efficiently adjust order changes, and allow Union Pacific to react quickly to order changes. Union Pacific anticipates a strong shipping season this year and this system will help UP and customers to ensure orders are filled correctly.

Effective October 1, 2012, please copy and paste the following template into an email directed to SPUD_ORDERS@UP.COM (for potatoes) or ONION_ORDERS@UP.COM (for onions):

All new orders/cancellations received by mid-night on Thursday of the week prior to the desired reefer request date will be added to the operational T-Plan.
