Union Pacific plans to have modified operations for the Independence Day holiday. This includes operations on Wednesday, July 4, 2012 through Thursday, July 5, 2012.
During this time, we will operate coal, soda ash and potash, grain, military and rock trains. The intermodal and automotive network will have reduced operations with selected annulments and consolidations depending on volumes.
Manifest and perishables train operations will vary by region:
Trains enroute will operate to destination. Some yard and local operations may be curtailed based on traffic levels and customer needs. Critical customer-specific switching requests will be protected. Interchange operations will be coordinated as required with connecting railroads at all locations.
This operating plan is subject to change in the event of a major service interruption or weather event. Thank you for your cooperation. On behalf of all of the employees of Union Pacific, we would like to wish you a safe and happy holiday. If you have any questions please contact your Union Pacific representative.
