Strong Storm Impacts Rail Operations Across Kansas, Oklahoma, Louisiana & Texas

Announcement Number: CN2012-6
Categories: General Announcements
Posted Date: March 20, 2012

To Our Customers,

A strong storm system producing heavy rain, hail and flooding is moving across the southern tier of our network from Kansas and Oklahoma south to Louisiana and the Texas-Mexico border.

The heaviest rainfall is occurring in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area, stretching south to San Antonio and Houston, where we have experienced temporary track washouts on our main lines. The severe weather is also resulting in deteriorated processing capabilities in our San Antonio and Houston terminals. This is a slow-moving system that will move eastward to Arkansas and Louisiana today.

Customers with traffic moving through these areas may experience 12- to 24-hour delays as crews make track repairs and operations return to normal.

If you have any questions please contact your Union Pacific representative.
