Flooding Impacts Operations in Chicago Area

Announcement Number: CN2013-2
Categories: General Announcements
Posted Date: April 19, 2013

To Our Customers,

Storms producing torrential rains Wednesday night and Thursday have created widespread flooding across the Chicago area, impacting Union Pacific rail operations.

All Union Pacific terminals in the Chicago area remain open. However, truck access is restricted at Union Pacific's Global II intermodal facility (Northlake, Ill.) due to flooded roads and other blockages.

Switch carriers in the Chicago area have also been affected, impacting our ability to interchange cars with our interchange partners.

Customers with shipments moving through the Chicago area should anticipate 24- to 48-hour delays as water levels recede and operations return to normal.

If you have any questions please contact your Union Pacific representative.
