To Our Customers,
 
With system velocity essentially flat and carloadings down slightly from the previous week, terminal dwell was down by nearly 30 minutes. Maintenance projects for the coming week include tie, rail and bridge maintenance work on seven subdivisions, with a heavy focus on key routes in the Pacific Northwest, Central Texas and the Central Corridor. Below are some network statistics from last week:
  • Carloadings for the week ending April 18, 2015, were 179,633. This is down 1.5 percent compared to the previous week.
  • AAR system velocity was 24.3 mph, which is down 0.1 mph compared to the previous week.
  • System terminal dwell improved by 0.4 hours during the past week to 28.3 hours.
  • In total, we had 291,481 cars online, which is flat to the previous week.
