To Our Customers,

System velocity reached a level last achieved by Union Pacific in January 2014. In addition, carloadings were up, and system terminal dwell was down slightly. Scheduled maintenance projects for the upcoming week include tie, rail and bridge maintenance on 14 key subdivisions, with a heavy focus on the Northern and Southern Regions. Check for more information on our maintenance projects (user ID and password required).

Below are some network statistics from last week:

  • Carloadings for the week ending Oct. 3, 2015, were 183,251. This is up 2.6 percent compared to the previous week.
  • AAR system velocity was 26.4 mph, which is up 0.3 mph compared to the previous week.
  • System terminal dwell was 28.0 hours, which is down 0.3 hours compared to the previous week.
  • In total, we had 295,292 cars online, which is flat compared to the previous week.
