To Our Customers,

During the past week, a slight increase in system velocity accompanied a small decrease in carloadings. Terminal dwell was flat to the previous week. Scheduled maintenance projects for the upcoming week include tie, rail and bridge maintenance on 11 key subdivisions, with a heavy focus on the Northern and Southern regions. Check for more information on our maintenance projects (user ID and password required).

Below are some network statistics from last week:

  • Carloadings for the week ending Nov. 21, 2015, were 169,718. This is down 1.9 percent compared to the previous week.
  • AAR system velocity was 26.7 mph, which is up 0.2 mph compared to the previous week.
  • System terminal dwell was 27.8 hours, which is flat compared to the previous week.
  • In total, we had 294,863 cars online, which is up 0.7 percent compared to the previous week.
