Business Planning and Integration Team’s Continued Strategic Focus

Union Pacific’s Business Planning and Integration (BP&I) Team is focused on strategic initiatives to drive customer satisfaction and business development. BP&I, composed of the Asset Management and Transportation & Infrastructure Teams, is charged with strategically leveraging Union Pacific’s resources and network to provide customer focused solutions. The ultimate goal is to make it easier for our customers to do business with Union Pacific.

Several key focus items for 2013 include:

  • Proactively monitor and analyze customer transportation performance for delivery improvements on loads and empties.
  • Implement logistic solutions that improve customer transit schedules and days of service.
  • Assist in the planning process to locate new customers and new facilities on Union Pacific lines.
  • Utilize market trends and customer demands to determine organizational fleet planning.
  • Develop proactive car quality programs in conjunction with our Car Management Team and Mechanical Department.
  • Identify equipment cost take-out opportunities that limit price fluctuations.

The BP&I Team is available to improve your transportation experience with Union Pacific. If you have questions or need support, please work with your Union Pacific sales representative who will forward it to the appropriate BP&I Team.
