Dear Intermodal Customer,

Effective April 1, 2014 Union Pacific is pleased to announce the opening of the new Santa Teresa Intermodal Ramp (STIR) in Santa Teresa, New Mexico. This new facility will be equipped with state-of-the-art technology including bio-metric recognition systems as part of the Automatic Gate System (AGS) that will improve your driver experience.

As we prepare for the opening of the Santa Teresa ramp, we need your assistance. Over the next several weeks please have each of your drivers that enter the Union Pacific El Paso ramp stop into the help office for driver pre-registration. The pre-registration will record drivers license information as well as biometric scanning. Drivers will also need their CDL# and SCAC code. Pre-registration will be available from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday. The pre-registration process is very short and your drivers should not experience long delays. By registering early you can ensure that drivers move quickly through the new gate at Santa Teresa Intermodal Ramp (STIR). For your reference, attached are learning tools to assist the drivers in becoming more familiar with the new AGS.

Driver registration will begin at UPRR El Paso ramp on Tuesday, February 4, 2014.
