Opening Satellite Facility in Laredo, TX

Union Pacific’s facilities at Laredo and Port Laredo are currently under construction which will improve our ability to move Customers’ freight. As a result, the number of available parking spaces will be temporarily reduced at the Port Laredo Ramp. In an effort to reduce terminal congestion and maintain fluid movement of equipment in and out of the ramp, UP is opening a satellite facility which will support empty equipment in Laredo. We encourage customers to starting using the new temporary off-site parking location to return empty EMHU and UMXU containers starting Wednesday, March 20. Effective Monday, March 25 all empty returns must be returned to the new satellite facility. Empty equipment reservations will be available from both Port Laredo and the satellite facility until the available empty pool has been depleted. At that time, customers will be required to pick up empty containers at the new satellite facility. Customers will be notified via a UP Bulletin when the available pool at Port Laredo has been depleted and empties must be outgated from the satellite facility. Please note if you try to return an empty to Port Laredo starting Monday, March 25, you will be rejected and sent to the satellite facility.

Directions from Port Laredo to the new Satellite Facility:
I. As you exit the Port Laredo facility, and approach the frontage road, which is a one way road going North only, you will turn right on the frontage road and travel approximately 1/4 miles to the first street light.
II. At the street light turn right on Carriers Drive. Continue 1/4 mile to Port Drive, which is the second street on the right hand side once you turn onto Carrier's Drive.
III. Turn right and travel approximately 200 yards and the satellite facility will be located on the right side of the road.
