Dear Intermodal Customer,
Union Pacific is pleased to announce the modernization of the Marion Intermodal Ramp. UPRR continues to improve its facilities by implementing new and advanced technologies designed to increase efficiencies and improve driver turn times. In the upcoming months we will be replacing our Automated Gate System (AGS) technology with a new AGS system at Marion, AR. This new technology is designed to reduce driver wait times at the gate, and improve image and data collection and data integrity. Construction will begin on Monday, April 1, 2013. During construction, our terminals will have a 6-8 week period where the gates will be operated manually with personnel in the lanes with hand held devices. Drivers may experience slightly longer gate processing times during this period.
To ensure a smooth transition, we need your assistance during the manual gate operations period. Please inform your drivers they will need to pre-register with the new system. Drivers can do this by stopping into the help office during the manual gate operations period to register. This only needs to be done once in the 6-8 week period. If drivers do not pre-register, they will be unable to process through the new AGS system and will experience delays when our system is activated. Drivers will need their drivers license and SCAC code to register.
Pre-registration will be available starting on Monday, April 29, 2013.

Thank you for your commitment to Intermodal and the Union Pacific Railroad.
Sincerely,
Intermodal Business Team
