Dear Intermodal Customer:
Union Pacific is pleased to announce the modernization of the Denver Intermodal Ramp. The project has started construction and we are nearing the milestone where the gate entrance to the facility will physically change locations. On November 19th, 2012, the current 40th Avenue entrance will be closed and a new entrance will be opened on York Street. The new entrance will initially operate with existing hand-held technology until approximately June 2013 when we will transition to a new state-of-the-art AGS (Automated Gate System). The new AGS system will significantly reduce driver wait times. We will continue to provide updates as we move towards implementing AGS.
