Take the pledge

to keep hands on the wheel, eyes on the road
and go home safe.

Texting while driving remains one of the largest risks to safety, and there are plenty of studies to prove it:

  • 75 percent of teenagers say they text while driving.1
  • Texting drivers are 23 times more likely to be in an accident.2
  • More than 100,000 car crashes a year involve texting.3
  • Actively texting drivers take their eyes off the road for an average of 4.6 out of every 6 seconds. At 55 mph, these drivers will travel the length of a football field, including the end zones.

Take the pledge, and encourage your loved ones to do the same, then share it on Facebook and Twitter to inform friends you won’t respond to texts while driving.

Afterward, please send your stories, including a family photo, or videos about how you discussed the pledge with your loved ones to C2C@UP.com.

Together, we can make the road a safer place to drive.
