Union Pacific has a booth at the 2017 Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in South Dakota. Meet with our recruiters to discuss career opportunities with the railroad.
If you thought the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally was only for leather-clad bikers, you’re wrong. The rally has evolved since it began in the 1930s, attracting motorcyclists and enthusiasts as well as urban professionals and business people. And this year, Union Pacific Railroad, who is recruiting talent.
“Our recruiters are at Sturgis to make connections and show attendees how they can have opportunities for advancement at Union Pacific,” said Corinne Dougherty, director of Talent Acquisition at Union Pacific.
Union Pacific recruiters are conducting on-the-spot interviews and taking questions about railroad careers, specifically looking to fill several craft positions, including train crew and diesel electricians, in Nebraska, Wyoming and a number of other locations.
Look for the yellow Union Pacific flag at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally to find the Union Pacific booth located at 1041 Main Street.
“We have to fill nearly 100 North Platte, Nebraska-based openings to accommodate customer demand and upcoming vacancies due to retirements,” Dougherty said. “We offer competitive pay, benefits and opportunities for advancement.”
Train crew positions are entry-level and can lead to becoming a locomotive conductor or engineer. Diesel electrician positions require previous electrical experience. The company currently is offering a $3,000 hiring bonus for diesel electrician hires in North Platte, Nebraska.
Union Pacific recruiters Rita, Jon, Madelyn and Sara are conducting on-the-spot interviews and taking questions about railroad careers at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.
Sturgis Motorcycle Rally attendees can meet with recruiters at the Union Pacific booth, 1041 Main Street, Sturgis, SD 57785, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. MT until Friday, August 11.
