Representing Union Pacific include Marty Russell, general director-Sales, left, and Senior Managers-Train Operations Ryan Broeckelmann and Chad Toussaint, third and fourth from left.

To earn this annual safety award, rail and truck carriers must maintain a top-notch record across several categories, including shipment accuracy, and employee and environmental safety while incurring minimal community impact.

LyondellBasell’s polyethylene polypropylene plastic pellets, along with various industrial chemicals, safely travel the Union Pacific network in covered hoppers year-round.

Shipping hazardous materials by rail is the safest mode of land transportation, and according to the Association of American Railroads, railroads deliver hazardous materials safely 99.9% of the time. Union Pacific is a leader in hazardous material transportation safety, securement and response. In the last four years alone, Union Pacific’s Hazmat team has trained over 19,000 first responders on hazmat response.
