Posted Date: May 21, 2012

Union Pacific plans to have modified operations during the Memorial Day weekend. This includes operations from 7:00 a.m. on Monday, May 28, 2012 through 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 29, 2012.

During this time, we will operate coal, soda ash and potash, grain, military and rock trains. The intermodal and automotive network will have reduced operations with selected annulments and consolidations depending on volumes. Between 7:00 a.m. on Monday, May 28 and 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 29, the majority of manifest and perishables trains originating from terminals in Northern and Western regions of the Union Pacific network will be held at origin. Manifest and perishables trains originating from terminals in the Southern region will operate with selected annulments depending on volumes. Trains enroute will operate to destination. Some yard and local operations may be curtailed based on traffic levels and customer needs. Critical customer-specific switching requests will be protected.

Interchange operations will be coordinated as required with connecting railroads at all locations.

This operating plan is subject to change in the event of a major service interruption or weather event. Thank you for your cooperation. On behalf of all of the employees of Union Pacific, we would like to wish you a safe and happy holiday weekend.

If you have any questions please contact your Union Pacific representative.
