Rerouting Continues for Traffic Interchanged with CSX via New Orleans

Announcement Number: CN2012-39
Categories: General Announcements
Posted Date: September 7, 2012

To Our Customers,

Union Pacific operations have returned to normal across areas affected by Hurricane Isaac, which struck the Gulf Coast last week.

We are continuing to reroute shipments for interchange with CSX via Memphis and St. Louis gateways for the next several weeks, as CSX completes repairs to track damaged by the storm. Customers with traffic waybilled with CSX via the New Orleans gateway should continue to anticipate 24- to 48-hour delays to accommodate the reroutes.

The embargo for all Rail Security Sensitive Materials (RSSM) shipments billed via the New Orleans interchange with CSX remains in effect. For a current list of embargoes, please refer to the embargo section of the Union Pacific website. Customers with questions about shipments into and out of the New Orleans area and other embargoed areas should contact the National Customer Center at 1-800-272-8777.

We will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available.

If you have any questions please contact your Union Pacific representative.
