Weather Impacts Rail Service Near Southern California-Nevada Border

Announcement Number: CN2014-28
Categories: General Announcements
Posted Date: September 9, 2014

To Our Customers,

Significant rainfall in California and Nevada has caused several washouts and mudslides on our Caliente and Cima subdivisions. Both subdivisions are part of our main route between Los Angeles and Salt Lake City. Crews are working to restore service to both subdivisions, and we are rerouting traffic around the affected area when possible. We expect to have the route open late tonight. Shipments traversing this area should experience a 48- to 72-hour delay.

Please contact the National Customer Service Center or your Union Pacific representative with any questions.
