Carloadings and system velocity both were up over the previous week, and terminal dwell improved to its lowest level since January 2014. Maintenance projects for the coming week include tie, rail and bridge maintenance work on 11 key subdivisions, with a heavy focus on key routes in the Pacific Northwest and Texas. Below are some network statistics from last week:
  • Carloadings for the week ending May 2, 2015, were 180,444. This is up 2.1 percent compared to the previous week.
  • AAR system velocity was 24.9 mph, which is up 0.5 mph compared to the previous week.
  • System terminal dwell was 28.1 hours, which is down 0.2 hours compared to the previous week.
  • In total, we had 291,695 cars online, which is flat to the previous week.
