Significant Rainfall Continues to Impact Rail Operations

Announcement Number: CN2015-38
Categories: General Announcements
Posted Date: May 26, 2015

To Our Customers,

Heavy rainfall and flooding over the weekend continue to impact nearly every subdivision of our Southern Region, and Union Pacific has experienced widespread outages. (The map shows where outages have occurred since the beginning of the holiday weekend.) Based on the weekend weather forecast, we staged resources throughout the region, which allowed us to promptly repair washouts over the past several days. All subdivisions are expected to be restored to service today, but it will take several days to work through the backlog of traffic. We will continue to monitor the weather forecast throughout the week and position resources accordingly. Customers with freight traversing the Southern Region should expect 48- to 72-hour delays.

Please contact the National Customer Service Center or your Union Pacific representative with any questions.
