To Our Customers,

An increase in system velocity and decrease in terminal dwell was accompanied by a slight downturn in carloadings over the previous week. Scheduled maintenance projects for the upcoming week include tie, rail and bridge maintenance on 14 key subdivisions, with a heavy focus on the Northern and Southern regions. Check for more information on our maintenance projects (user ID and password required).

Below are some network statistics from last week:

  • Carloadings for the week ending Oct. 17, 2015, were 175,718. This is down 1 percent compared to the previous week.
  • AAR system velocity was 26.8 mph, which is up 0.6 mph compared to the previous week.
  • System terminal dwell was 27.6 hours, which is down 0.2 hours compared to the previous week.
  • In total, we had 292,893 cars online, which is down 0.7 percent compared to the previous week.
