Multiple Weather Systems Affect Union Pacific Network

Announcement Number: CN2015-84
Categories: General Announcements
Posted Date: December 28, 2015

To Our Customers,

Sunday brought heavy rains and flooding to portions of our network in Arkansas, Oklahoma and Texas. Throughout today and into tomorrow, severe weather is expected across the majority of our Northern and Southern regions, including Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, Missouri, Minnesota, Wisconsin and Illinois. Significant rainfall across the southern portion of these states is being followed by snow and ice that will impact much of the Midwest. Union Pacific’s Winter Weather Command Centers are operating, and we are closely watching changing conditions and deploying crews and resources to mitigate the effects from these various weather systems. Because of outages along some key routes, customers should expect 24- to 48-hour delays as we move traffic to alternate routes. We expect the recovery to take about 36 to 48 hours.

Thank you for your business. Please contact the National Customer Service Center or your Union Pacific representative with any questions.
