Heavy Rains, Flooding Impact Operations in Southern, Western Regions

Announcement Number: CN2016-5
Categories: General Announcements
Posted Date: March 14, 2016

To Our Customers,

In our Southern Region, record rainfall in Texas, Louisiana and Arkansas has caused numerous washouts and other track problems. The following subdivisions currently are experiencing weather-related slowdowns or closures: DeQuincy, McGehee, Monroe and Reisor. Crews are in place to begin necessary repairs once water levels recede to safe levels. At this time, we are unable to predict when all repairs will be made and closures remedied. While we are rerouting traffic when possible, customers with shipments traversing this area should expect delays exceeding 48 hours.

In our Western Region, our Canyon Subdivision experienced both washouts and rock slides near Merlin, Calif. Traffic currently is being rerouted via the Roseville Subdivision. Work, including demolition to remove boulders, is ongoing. Customers with traffic in the region should expect delays of 24 to 48 hours.

Thank you for your business. Please contact the National Customer Service Center or your Union Pacific representative with any questions.
