Outages Continue to Impact Southern Region Operations

Announcement Number: CN2016-8
Categories: General Announcements
Posted Date: March 21, 2016

To Our Customers,

As the rains have subsided in the Southern Region, Union Pacific has made great progress in repairing and opening track. Currently, only the Lafayette Subdivision, which is located between Lake Charles, La., and Beaumont, Texas, is the only main track with remaining closures, and it is expected to re-open to limited traffic later this week. The McGehee (between Pine Bluff, Ark., and Monroe, La.), Monroe (between Monroe and Alexandria, La.) and Reisor (between Shreveport and Alexandria, La.) Subdivisions are flowing, albeit slower than normal, as additional repairs remain. Based on the widespread nature of this flooding, it will take several weeks for us to work with customers to resume normal operations. We are working diligently to efficiently reroute traffic. We encourage customers to submit service issues and communicate critical needs through our National Customer Service Center. This will help us return operations to normal as effectively and efficiently as possible.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we continue to restore track impacted by this historic flooding. We appreciate your business. Please contact the National Customer Service Center or your Union Pacific representative with any questions.
