To Our Customers,

In anticipation of the forthcoming holidays, we would like to update you on operations during this time to meet your service expectations. 

  • Network operations are expected to run as normal, with adjustments made to align with customer holiday demand.
  • Adjustments to local operations will be made to align with customer holiday demand.
  • Intermodal facilities will have adjusted gate hours. Please see Union Pacific's Intermodal Holiday Plan for additional information.
  • The Mexico interchange locations at El Paso and Eagle Pass are currently embargoed, please review the current embargoes for the latest information.
  • The remaining Mexico interchange locations will shut down operations on December 25th and again on January 1st, with operations returning to normal on December 26, 2023, and January 2, 2024. In addition, the Calexico interchange will shut down on the 24th and 31st; Brownsville and Laredo will have limited interchanges on the 24th and 31st.

How To Communicate Critical Needs and Industry Curtailments
We are focused on meeting customer expectations and aligning local operations with customer demand. To communicate or confirm critical facility switching needs during the holiday, please access Case Management (user ID and password required) to request holiday service prior to the close of business on Thursday, December 21, 2023, or by contacting Customer Care & Support at 800-272-8777 to request service. You may also notify us of any plant curtailments by opening a case in Case Management and select "Facility Status Update" as the reason.
