To Our Customers,

During the past week, velocity was nearly flat to the previous week while carloadings increased nearly 1 percent. Terminal dwell was reduced by half an hour. Scheduled maintenance projects for the upcoming week include tie, rail and bridge maintenance on 14 key subdivisions, with a heavy focus on the Northern Region, the Central Corridor and North-South Routes. Below are some network statistics from last week:

  • Carloadings for the week ending Aug. 8, 2015, were 181,693. This is up 0.9 percent compared to the previous week.
  • AAR system velocity was 25.4 mph, which is down 0.1 mph compared to the previous week.
  • System terminal dwell was 28.4 hours, which is down 0.5 hours compared to the previous week.
  • In total, we had 292,310 cars online, which is flat to the previous week.
