Dear Intermodal Customer,
Union Pacific continues to enhance its intermodal terminals. In recent months, our Portland (Brooklyn) Intermodal Terminal has been undergoing several structural improvements. We are pleased to announce that the Brooklyn Terminal will also be equipped with state-of-the-art technology systems, including an Automatic Gate System (AGS) with bio-metric recognition that will improve driver experience.
As we prepare for the implementation of AGS, we need your assistance. Over the next several weeks, please have each of your drivers that enter the Union Pacific Brooklyn Terminal stop into the help office for driver pre-registration. The pre-registration will record driver’s license information as well as biometric scanning. Drivers will also need their CDL# and SCAC code.
Pre-registration will be available from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The pre-registration process is very short and your drivers should not anticipate long delays. By registering early you can ensure that drivers move quickly through the gate when the system goes live in mid-August.
Driver Registration will begin at Brooklyn Ramp on Thursday, June 8, 2016.
