Posted Date: September 23, 2013

To Our Customers,

Rail operations in Colorado continue to be affected by the Front Range flooding. Following is an update on Colorado and surrounding areas.

  • Rail service between Denver, Colo., and Cheyenne, Wyo., (Greeley Subdivision) has been restored. The traffic backlog there has been alleviated.
  • Rail shipments on our southwestern route between Denver, Colo., and Salt Lake City, Utah, (Moffatt Subdivision) continue to be rerouted. Customers should anticipate delays up to 72 hours.
  • Rail service between La Salle, Colo., and Ft. Collins, Colo., remains out of service.
  • A derailment east of Grand Island, Neb., blocked eastbound and westbound mainline traffic over the weekend. One track has been reopened, and a second track is expected to be repaired and reopened today. Customers can expect delays up to 24 hours as we work off the backlog of trains in this corridor.

Work continues to restore rail operations in the affected areas. We will provide updates as they are available.
