Flooding and Weather-Related Incidents

To Our Customers,
 
Following are updates regarding weather-related events that have impacted operations over the past 24 hours. Customers with rail shipments moving through all impacted areas should expect delays of up to 72 hours. Per our recovery plan, customers may see their traffic rerouted around the impacted areas. 
 
Recent Derailments
A derailment early this morning near Ottawa, Minnesota, caused by a section of washed-out track, is currently impacting operations between Minneapolis and Mankato, Minnesota. Another derailment in a tunnel near Cheney, Washington, last evening is also impacting operations between Spokane and Hinkle, Washington. 
 
Midwest Flood Recovery 
In addition to the updates provided in yesterday's announcement, a washout near Seney, Iowa, is impacting service between Butterfield, Minnesota, and Sioux City, Iowa. As water recedes and when conditions are considered safe to access the area, crews will begin inspecting the damage and making repairs.
