Tropical Storm Nicholas – Update on Operations

To Our Customers,
Tropical Storm Nicholas made landfall southwest of Houston early this morning, initially as a Category 1 hurricane. Following is a summary of current conditions:
- The inspection process continues on impacted areas of our network. Our Track, Bridge and Signal Teams have spent the day clearing debris from the track and evaluating our signaling systems.
- Generators are being utilized in areas without power. Impacted locations experiencing some outages include Houston, Galveston, Angleton and Freeport, Texas.
- Intermodal operations at our Settegast and Englewood intermodal ramps commenced this morning.
Customers in the affected area with facilities or tracks out of service should open a case in Case Management. Please refer to the detailed instructions on our Hurricane Planning and Recovery page so we are aware of these outages.
We are closely monitoring the storm as it moves across central and southern Louisiana.
