Posted Date: February 12, 2021

To Our Customers,

Our rail network is currently being impacted by extreme winter weather and sub-zero temperatures across several areas, including the Pacific Northwest, the Midwest and Southern Plains.

  • In the Pacific Northwest, freezing rain, ice and up to four feet of snow are expected throughout portions of Oregon, Washington and Northern California through Saturday.
  • In the Midwest, an additional three inches of snow, sub-zero temperatures and dangerous wind chills are expected across Nebraska, Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin and Illinois through the weekend and into early next week.
  • An arctic weather system is expected to move through the southern portion of our network this weekend, bringing frigid temperatures and accumulating ice and snow across eastern New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana and Arkansas.
Customers can expect delays of a minimum of 48 hours for shipments traversing these impacted areas until the severe weather subsides.

We have activated our winter weather action plans and remain focused on delivering your freight as quickly as possible. We have equipment, additional resources and crews positioned throughout our network, working around the clock to restore service safely amid very challenging conditions.
