Dear Intermodal Customer,

Union Pacific is experiencing an increase in empty activity at our Montebello ramp, which is causing significant congestion.  In an attempt to maintain ramp fluidity and operational functionality, empty ingates will be suspended from Montebello, effective Thursday, March 31 at 10:00 PT.  Additionally, on March 9, Union Pacific announced the suspension of empty ingates at East Los Angeles via intermodal bulletin IM2016-96.  We have seen improvement in fluidity and we are able to allow empty ingates at the terminal.  East Lost Angeles will accept empty ingates effective immediately.  In addition to East Los Angeles, customers are able to return empty equipment to LATC, City of Industry, and ICTF.  Empty reservations will be granted from all Los Angeles Metro locations.

Union Pacific will continue to monitor fluidity at our Montebello ramp and as soon as congestion subsides, empty ingates will be accepted. Customers will be notified via intermodal bulletin.

If you have any questions please contact your Union Pacific representative.
