Dear Union Pacific Customer:

Union Pacific will be offering the UP Holiday Per Diem Relief Program to its EMP and UMAX customers per the terms and conditions shown below. UP will waive ALL equipment per diem charges for EMP and UMAX equipment at an "Origin" status for originating loads on or after Friday, December 22, 2017 through Friday, January 5, 2018 at selected UP ramps (noted below).

PLEASE NOTE: Since the Holiday credit will not be applied until the origin dwell period completes, customers will see normal per diem charges accruing while unit is at a street status.

Terms & Conditions:

*The Holiday Program will only apply to origin dwell periods that begin on or after December 22, 2017 at 00:00 until January 5, 2018 at 23:59.  Any origin dwell periods that begin before December 22, 2017 will NOT be eligible for free time.  For more specific information on when origin dwell begins and ends, please see the REZ-1 Help and Policies section under the Support tab on the REZ-1 website.

*Any origin dwell periods that are started via a street interchange on or after December 22, 2016, WILL be eligible for free time.

* All units must start and end origin street time at a Union Pacific ramp. If a unit is outgated or ingated at a railroad other than the UP, the unit will not be eligible for free time.

* Units must be returned to Union Pacific as a load in order to receive free time.

* Any equipment still on the street at origin at 00:00 on January 6, 2017 will be subject to per diem charges starting at that time.  All disincentive charges (variable demurrage) will apply based on the total number of days the unit has been out on the street at origin.  For example, if a unit has been out on the street at origin for 15 days as of January 6, that day will be billed at the $50.00 per day rate.  Origin Dwell days between December 22 through January 5, including variable demurrage days will be free.  For a complete listing of per diem rate information, please see the REZ-1 Help and Policies section under the Support tab on the REZ-1 website.

*All rules for UP equipment storage for EMP and UMAX equipment will remain the same.

*Customers will not be able to obtain proper charge information on reservations eligible for the Holiday credit via the Dwell Analysis Summary or Billable Status report available on the REZ-1 website.

All Union Pacific Ramp locations will support the Holiday Per Diem Relief Program with the exception of UP ramps located in the Chicago, Memphis, St. Louis, and Kansas City metro areas.

Process:
As each origin dwell period completes, REZ-1 will check to see if the reservation is eligible for a Holiday credit. A Holiday status will be inserted on all reservations that had origin dwell periods that began during the free time period.  The amount to be credited will either be based on the date the origin dwell period completed or on the end date of the free time period, whichever comes first.
