Dear Intermodal Customer,
Beginning Friday August 16, 2013 Union Pacific will begin a maintenance project on our rail line running south from Global IV (Joliet) towards East St. Louis, Illinois. The work will affect traffic moving between Global IV and both Dallas and Houston, TX.  Three separate outages are planned: August 16 - 23; September 16 - 22 and October 16 - 23. During each of these outages, freight will load as normal but train service will move via an alternate route, customers can expect service delays up to 12-18 hours. Dallas southbound service days will run per published service plan, i.e., Tuesday through Saturday. Houston service days, currently planned 7 days-per-week, will instead run on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. There will be no changes to northbound service days and trains will depart as scheduled, however they will be subject to the 12-18 hour delay.

Thank you for your commitment to Intermodal and Union Pacific Railroad. If you should have any questions please contact your Intermodal Business Manager.

Sincerely,
Intermodal Business Team
