Posted Date: June 2, 2017

Beginning on July 10, our LATC terminal will undergo construction designed to improve operational efficiency. In order to alleviate congestion at the facility during this project, UPRR is assessing whether to shift some freight from LATC to Los Angeles (East LA).

In preparation for this construction project, UPRR will implement a one week evaluation for shipments originating at Brooklyn (Portland), OR and Tacsim,WA that move to Los Angeles and terminate there. During this time shipments from these origins will terminate and notify at Los Angeles instead of LATC.

This one week evaluation will be in effect as outlined below:

Shipments ingating at Brooklyn for the Monday, June 5 through Friday, June 9 gate cut-offs will terminate and notify at Los Angeles.

Shipments ingating at Tacsim for the Monday, June 5 through Thursday, June 8 gate cut-offs will terminate and notify at Los Angeles.

Train symbols that will terminate at Los Angeles are as follows:
ZBRLC-05
ZBRLC-06
ZBRLC-07
ZBRLC-08
ZBRLCB-09

Any shipments after this time frame will resume termination and notification at LATC.

There will be no changes made to the service schedules; all cut-offs and availability times will remain the same. The only change is the destination terminal shift from LATC to Los Angeles.

This change is for southbound traffic that terminates at Los Angeles only. Traffic destined to Mesquite (Dallas), TX and Lathrop, CA will not be affected. At this time there are no changes to the northbound schedules; all northbound shipments destined to Brooklyn and Tacsim will continue to ingate at LATC.

Customers will not need to make any changes to their bill of lading/waybill and should continue billing to LATC during this test period. UPRR will manually adjust the billing for units on these specific trains once they depart so that the units terminate and notify at Los Angeles.

We will send an updated announcement prior to the start of construction at LATC on July 10 with further information on any changes.
