Employees Still Encouraged to Report Vaccination Status; Vaccine Mandate on Hold
After reviewing the Georgia District Court’s Dec. 7 ruling, Union Pacific is still encouraging employees to get vaccinated and report their vaccination status.
Given the legal uncertainty caused by this one ruling, UP is complying with the temporary suspension of the federal contractor vaccine mandate. As various cases navigate through the courts, UP will continue evaluating all developments and keep employees updated.
As of Dec. 8, 73% of employees are fully vaccinated and another 7% are pending (awaiting an accommodation determination or completed one step of the two-step vaccination reporting process) – thank you for your efforts so far, we know this hasn’t been easy.
Employees are reminded to protect themselves, their families and their co-workers against COVID-19 by practicing good hygiene and social distancing, wearing facial coverings and receiving their vaccination.
