Routing Small Package Shipments

  • United Parcel Service, UPS, is the carrier
  • Weight is not to exceed 150 lbs.
  • Packages that exceed 108 inches in length or when its length (longest side of the package) plus girth [(2 x width) + (2 x height)] combined exceeds 165 inches cannot be shipped UPS.
  • If dimensions disqualify the package to be sent UPS, enter shipment into LMS and define the dimensions
  • No Handwritten BOLs will be accepted
  • Use Standard, GROUND service, (Must have prior approval for Air shipments)
  • Do not declare value insurance.

  • All hazmat packages under 70 lbs. must ship via UPS. Hazmat enrollment is done at www.ups.com. For related questions, call 402-544-3812
  • UPRR Purchase Order Number, Work Order Number, or a Cost Center Number MUST be entered in the UPS Ref 1 field
  • If weight is more than 150 lbs. (total weight combined for 1 destination), LTL routing applies(even if shipping in separate packages)
