Repairs Continue Along Mudslide-Impacted Areas Near Spokane, Wash.

Announcement Number: CN2012-9
Categories: General Announcements
Posted Date: April 5, 2012

To Our Customers,

Efforts continue to repair damage from the large mudslide that took out Union Pacific main line track north of Spokane, Wash., cutting off the interchange with the Canadian Pacific (CP) at Eastport, Idaho. Operations personnel are currently detouring trains for interchange to and from the CP via St. Paul, Minn. and over the BNSF routes for interchange with the CP at Sweet Grass, Mont. and Vancouver, British Columbia.

Engineering crews anticipate cleanup and track repair will be complete late this weekend. Once the repairs are complete, we will gradually resume our normal operations via the Eastport gateway. During this ramp-up period, some traffic may be rerouted via alternate gateways. Customers with shipments moving in this corridor should continue to anticipate 48- to 72-hour delays until full operations resume.

If you have any questions please contact your Union Pacific representative.
