Winter Weather Rail Operations Update

Announcement Number: CN2013-19
Categories: General Announcements
Posted Date: December 9, 2013

To Our Customers,

Throughout the weekend, extreme temperatures in the northern tier of our network impacted our ability to switch and classify cars for outbound movements from terminals and our ability to set-out and pick-up cars. Temperatures are starting to moderate, and the number of trains held for weather is coming down. Some customers also may see delays up to 24 hours on cars processing at North Platte.

Freezing rain, snow and cold temperatures also impacted operations in our southern tier. Transit time delays of 8 to 12 hours should be expected in and out of Ft. Worth, Little Rock, Pine Bluff and St. Louis.

If you have any questions please contact your Union Pacific representative.
