Winter Storm Linus Update

Announcement Number: CN2015-10
Categories: General Announcements
Posted Date: February 4, 2015

To Our Customers,

Cleanup following Winter Storm Linus continues across our Northern Region. Chicago was particularly hard hit by this storm, and additional snow fell in the region yesterday and today. We have adequate maintenance resources in the area to clear the snow and make any necessary repairs, and we have crews and locomotives positioned in the area. Snow has been mostly cleared from our yards and other facilities, and terminal operations are returning to normal. We are coordinating with our interchange partners to reroute traffic not destined to Chicago, which is helping to reduce the amount of traffic coming through the city. We have begun working through the backlog of traffic, but we anticipate it will take the better part of this week to fully restore operations. Customers should continue to expect delays of 48 hours on traffic destined for or traveling through Chicago.

If you have any questions, please contact the National Customer Service Center or your Union Pacific representative.
