To Our Customers,

Our network was primarily free of winter weather issues this past week. Union Pacific maintenance crews are currently replacing ties on eight subdivisions on our Southern and Western regions. Post-blitz maintenance work, including undercutting the track to clean and renew the ballast, continues on our Giddings subdivision. Maintenance work also is being performed at the Texarkana and Salt Lake yards. For additional information on these and other maintenance projects, please visit MyUPRR (user ID and password required).

Below are some network statistics from last week:

  • Carloadings for the week ending March 14, 2015, were 177,349. This is up 2 percent compared to the previous week.
  • AAR system velocity was 24.3 mph, which is up 0.1 mph compared to the previous week.
  • System terminal dwell was 30.4 hours, up slightly compared to the previous week.
  • In total, we had 290,306 cars online, which is flat to the previous week.
