To Our Customers,

The holiday week brought a decrease in carloadings and improvements in velocity and terminal dwell. Scheduled maintenance projects for the upcoming week include tie, rail and bridge maintenance on 12 key subdivisions, with a heavy focus on key North-South routes, the Central Corridor and Texas. Below are some network statistics from last week:

  • Carloadings for the week ending July 4, 2015, were 168,066. This is down 5.7 percent compared to the previous week.
  • AAR system velocity was 24.4 mph, which is up 0.4 mph compared to the previous week.
  • System terminal dwell was 28.6 hours, which is down 0.4 hours compared to the previous week.
  • In total, we had 297,264 cars online, which is flat with the previous week.
