To Our Customers,

We saw small decreases in both carloadings and velocity during the past week. Terminal dwell improved slightly. Scheduled maintenance projects for the upcoming week include tie, rail and bridge maintenance on 11 key subdivisions, with a heavy focus on the Northern and Southern Regions. The first week of the Worthington Subdivision maintenance blitz wrapped up on schedule on Sept. 7 with the second half of the blitz scheduled from Sept. 16 through Sept. 23. The Worthington Subdivision, located between Sioux City, Iowa, and St. James, Minn., is undergoing major rail and tie renewal work during the blitz outages. Reroute and specific customer service plans established in advance of the first closure helped minimize interruptions. Over the Labor Day weekend, we also completed a significant bridge replacement on our Chester Subdivision, between Gorham, Mo., and Dexter, Mo. Check out our maintenance projects (user ID and password required) for more information on the Worthington Sub blitz and other maintenance projects.
