Texas Flooding Causing Rail Traffic Delays

Announcement Number: CN2015-68
Categories: General Announcements
Posted Date: October 24, 2015

To Our Customers,

Due to weather conditions in Texas, the Gulf Coast and Mexico, Union Pacific has shut off bulk trains at origin on all empties and loads into and out of Texas. We have multiple subdivisions that have been impacted by heavy rains, and the Ennis Subdivision is currently out of service.

Much of the eastern and central parts of Texas are currently experiencing or are under threat of flooding with more rain expected in the state as the remnants of Hurricane Patricia travel northward from Mexico. We have staged resources and equipment to aid us in restoring operations as quickly as possible. Customers with trains traveling through the affected areas should expect delays.

We will continue to monitor this situation and provide updates as conditions warrant.

Please contact the National Customer Service Center or your Union Pacific representative with any questions.
