To Our Customers,

Widespread flooding continues in the Houston area due to Tropical Storm Harvey. The storm is predicted to continue for several more days generating record rainfalls. As a result, Union Pacific is taking the following steps:

  • We will be issuing embargoes, beginning with all traffic destined to Houston and surrounding areas. Customers should also consider diversions of enroutes where feasible.
  • Trains are being annulled for today and Monday, at a minimum. Facility switching in Houston and surrounding areas will remain suspended for at least another 48-72 hours.

Our primary focus is for the safety of our crews. We will continue to monitor this storm and provide you with additional information. Please continue to call our Hurricane Hotline at 800-365-6963 to report any damage to your facility that will impact our ability to provide service once we resume operations. This information should include damage or tracks out of service and estimated facility repair time.

Please contact the National Customer Service Center or your Union Pacific representative with any questions.
